Beijing (China) will be the seat – from 14 to 17 November 2012 – of the “30th World FICTS Challenge – Beijing Worldwide Final of Championship of Cinema and Television Sport” to which will participate the winners videos of the 14 Festivals around the 5 Continents of the International Circuit “World FICTS Challenge”: Barcelona (Spain), Istanbul (Turkey), Rio De Janeiro (Brazil), Matera (Italy), Yakutsk (Russia), Hanoi (Vietnam), Guayaquil (Ecuador), Kampala (Uganda), Tashkent (Uzbekistan), Liberec (Czech Republic), Lipetsk (Russia), Baku (Azerbaijan), Los Angeles (USA). It’s the first time – in the 30 years of the FICTS – the World Final leaves the traditional venue of Milan that, this year, will host – from 5 to 9 December – the celebration of the “Thirty Years of the Foundation of FICTS”.
Beijing will be for one week, the “world capital” of the sport, television and cinema. The “30th World FICTS Challenge” is organized by BODA – Beijing Olympic City Development Association and by FICTS – Fédération Internationale Cinéma Télévision Sportifs in collaboration with the State Administration of Radio Film and television, General Administration of Sport of China, The Beijing municipal government, Beijing Municipal Party Committee Propaganda Department, the Central Newsreel and documentary film studio and China Film Archive. The event – international showcase for media, broadcasters, worldwide network, radio, production companies, producers, directors, Olympic Committees and Sports Federations, advertising and communication – is inserted inside the “8th Beijing International Sports Film Week “, the only Olympic cultural activity to be regularly held following the successful completion of the Olympic Games. The event will be known for its main task of promoting the development of sports film & TV, transmitting the Olympic ideals, and carrying forward the Olympic legacies.
The “Opening Ceremony” – that overlaps with the inauguration of the ICCIE – China Beijing International Cultural & Creative Industry Expo – will take place on November 14 at the China Millenniium Monument . The FICTS President Prof. Franco Ascani with the highest institutional and sports authorities and with the representatives of the IOC will attend in the event to which will be present prestigious personalities of the world of sport and cinema and the winning athletes at the 2012 London Olympic Games.
During the event will feature the special exhibition dedicated to the world of sports cinema. The exhibition will include 80 original copies of Posters, Prints – from international FICTS collectors – the films that have made the history of cinema on sports including basketball (since 1920 till today), boxing, car racers.
On November 16th is scheduled the International Forum “TV SPORTS EMOTIONS”: meeting and debate among the operators of the field to increase productions sales and the commercial potential of the houses of production specialized in sport products, widening their acquaintance of the necessities of the market and to allow to the houses of production and distribution with the world of the sport is introduced in the main markets international audiovisual aids.
The Water Cube will the seat of the “Award Ceremony” on Saturday November 17 with the delivery of the “Guirlande d’Honneur”, the “Mention d’Honneur” and “Special Prices” to the winners of the “30th World FICTS Challenge – Beijing Worldwide Final of Championship of Cinema and Television Sport “.
