The Museu Olímpic i de l’Esport Joan Antoni Samaranch has hosted the “Opening Ceremony” of the “BCN Sports Film Festival – Barcelona International FICTS Festival 2022″.
The event was chaired by David Escudé, president of the Barcelona Olympic Foundation and sports councilor of the Barcelona City Council, and Prof. Franco Ascani, President of the FICTS (Fédération Internationale Cinéma Télévision Sportifs).
At the event, presented by TV3 journalist Mireia Vicente, the winner of the 10th edition of the SpotSport contest, Masih Sharif, was awarded the prize by David Casanovas, general director of the SPORT newspaper.
The SpotSport contest aims to help promote and support talents through the production of an advertising video for the 12th edition of the BCN Sports Film Festival. The winning spot “Barcelona” was produced by Masih Sharif – founder of @barcelonashots-, specialized in branding through film and tourism.

Next, it was the turn to pay tribute to personalities from the world of sport who are referents in the promotion of sport and its values. This year, with the commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the Barcelona ’92 Olympic Games, the BCN Sports Film Festival wanted to pay tribute to Antonio Rebollo, archery athlete known, especially, for having lit the Olympic torch at the opening ceremony of the Barcelona ’92 Olympic Games.
Agustí Argelich highlighted the quality of this year’s productions and the values they transmit, such as the spirit of self-improvement, companionship, enthusiasm and integration, among others. Finally, a selection of productions was screened so that those attending the inauguration could have a first contact with the audiovisuals that can be seen in the different venues of the Festival.
The BCN Sports Film of this new edition is free and has a mixed format to adapt to the needs of our audience. On the one hand, the on-site format, through which you can follow the sessions that make up the program in 7 different venues in Barcelona. On the other hand, a virtual format, where the screenings can be watched through the Festhome platform. In both cases, it will be necessary to reserve a ticket.
A unique opportunity to enjoy sport in its most artistic essence!
