“FICTS FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL CINE DE DEPORTE” IN MEXICO. THE WINNER IS...

The city of Oaxaca (Mexico) hosted - 1 to 4 March - the first edition of the “Festival Internacional de Cine Deporte” organized in the framework of the Worldwide Championship of Cinema, Sport and Television “World FICTS Challenge” by Alexanderson Bolano.

The Festival took place at the University Carl Rogers, who also hosted the “Award Ceremony” during which have been awarded the winners of the Festival that will participate in “Sport Movies & Tv 2014” (Milan, December 3 to 8).

Among the winners: “Braking Air” directed by Xavier Velasco Du Solier, “Romang, greco-roman” by Bongkeun Kwon, “Baballe Apocalypse” by Manuel Leroueil.

 

“WOMEN & SPORT”: AN EXHIBITION AND A “SPECIAL VIDEO” FOR A GENDER EQUALITY

March 8  is not a day of  “Fest” but a “Celebration” for women whom were able to obtain, thanks to the struggles of the great women of the past, all the rights that today we take for granted: the right to vote, equality in the workplace.

FICTS - Fédération Internationale Cinéma Télévision Sportifs (joined with 113 Countries) recognized by IOC celebrates the day with the Exhibition “ WOMEN & SPORT” female initiative aimed to value the role of women in sport. The exhibition consists of 40 posters of sports movie where the woman is the protagonist and a "Special Video" with 50 protagonists of the Olympic Games since 1900. Among the posters: “National Velvet” (1944) film directed by Clarence Brown with Elizabeth Taylor, “Million Dollar Baby” directed by Clint Eastwood, “Oscar” in 2005, “Nadia” (1984) about the life of Romanian gymnast Nadia Comaneci, winner of three Olympic gold medals at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal and the first female gymnast to be awarded a perfect score of 10 in an Olympic gymnastic event. There will be screened, non-stop, a “Special Video” which includes 50 stars of the Olympic Games since 1900. 

The FICTS President Prof. Franco Ascani said: “We must work together for the realization of gender equality in which information and communication take on a significant role”.

 

AL VIA IL 7 MARZO I GIOCHI PARALIMPICI DI SOCHI 2014. 1300 TV COLLEGATE, 750 ATLETI, 45 NAZIONI

Il 7 marzo prenderanno il via i Giochi Invernali Paralimpici di Sochi 2014. Saranno 750 gli atleti provenienti da 45 Nazioni che gareggeranno in 5 discipline sportive: wheelchair curling, icesledge Hockey, sci nordico, sci alpino e biathlon. 1.300 tra televisioni e radio, provenienti da tutto il mondo, trasmetteranno l’evento.

450 i canali televisivi provenienti da 10 Regioni della Russia trasmetteranno circa 180 ore di gare per la soddisfazione di Philip Craven, Presidente IPC, il quale ha dichiarato: “Siamo orgogliosi del fatto che emittenti televisive russe e internazionali con una vasta esperienza in grandi eventi forniranno una così ampia copertura televisiva dei primi Giochi Invernali Paralimpici in Russia”.

OSCAR OF SPORT CINEMA, “EXCELLENCE GUIRLANDE D’HONNEUR” FOR PAOLO SORRENTINO

The FICTS Executive Committee has decided to award with the “Excellence Guirlande d'Honneur” the Italian director Paolo Sorrentino Oscar for “Best foreign language film” with “The great beauty” at the 86th Annual Academy Awards.

The highest FICTS honor, considered the “Oscar of cinema and sport television”, will be delivered by the President Prof. Franco Ascani during the “Opening Ceremony” of “Sport Movies & Tv 2014” scheduled in Milano on December 4th, 2014. Paolo Sorrentino has participated in 2011 to the “BCN Sports Film - Barcelona International FICTS Festival” in Spain with a film dedicated to the values ​​of rugby. The “The slow game” is the title of the short film shot in black and white, to which have also collaborated other famous Italian directors Ermanno Olmi and Gabriele Salvatores.

 

“BCN SPORTS FILM - BARCELONA INTERNATIONAL FICTS FESTIVAL”. OPENING CEREMONY ON 7 MAY

Barcelona (Spain) will be the seat from 7th to 10th May 2014 of the fifth edition of “BCN Sports Film 2014 - Barcelona International FICTS Festival”.

The event is organized – in the framework of the Worldwide Championship of Cinema, Sport and Television “World FICTS Challenge” - by the “Fundacio Olympic Barcelona” directed by Dr Juli Pernas Lopez (director of Museu Olímpic i de l'Esport Joan Antoni Samaranch) in collaboration with “Nikita Distribution” and with support of FICTS, the Ayuntament de Barcelona Institut Barcelona Esport and the Spanish Olympic Committee.

More than 200 inscriptions coming from 40 Countries among which: Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chine, France, Germany, etc. First time entrants include Cyprus, South Korea, Greenland, Maldives, Taiwan, Tobago and Tunisia. On Friday, 9th May 2014 - from 4 pm to 6 pm in the Auditorium of the Joan Antoni Samaranch Olympic and Sports Museum - will take place the second Workshop “Pitching Advice” where find the advice need to get your sports themed audiovisual project off the ground. The “Opening ceremony” of the Festival will take place on Wednesday May 7 at Auditorium of the Joan Antoni Samaranch Olympic and Sports Museum at presence of Deputy Mayor for Quality of Life, Equality and Sport, Maite Fandos President of Barcelona Olympic Foundation.
